SPRINGFIELD (February 05, 2009) The CAAR has today announced the launch of its new Facebook and LinkedIn online community groups. The new groups, designed to enhance communications between REALTORS and CAAR, give members exclusive access to CAAR content and an opportunity to develop their professional connections online.

Social networking Web sites have been the center of much interest in recent years. The Facebook community alone is reporting more than 90 million active participants as of August 2008. For real estate professionals, developing online connections with consumers is a proactive way to build advocacy. Interaction with other REALTORS allows them to share tips, learn new areas of the business and engage in group discussions on common professional interests.

“Successful real estate agents depend on good networking,” says Nancy Long, President of CAAR. “The Facebook and LinkedIn communities give them a convenient way to develop connections quickly (both leads and referrals), in their own profession and industry.”

CAAR has also announced a special contest that runs concurrent with the launch of the new groups in efforts to fuel citizenship in the community. Every member that

joins the Facebook and LinkedIn groups by February 17th will be entered to win a $100.00 gas card. The drawing will be held at CAAR’s membership breakfast on February 19, 2009.
