SPRINGFIELD (August 18, 2008). The Capital Area Association of REALTORS, along with a coalition of others, has signed on as a Plaintiff in a Complaint that was filed this morning (August 18 th ) in the Circuit Court of the Seventh Judicial Circuit ( Sangamon County , Illinois ) against Governor Rod Blagojevich, Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, Comptroller Dan Hynes and IDOT Secretary Milton Sees. 

The Complaint seeks temporary injunctive relief to bar the Defendents from the expenditure of any public funds on the purchase or renovation of any property without the approval of the Attorney General, as required by law. 

In addition to CAAR, other Plaintiffs include Sen. Larry Bomke, Rep. Raymond Poe, Rep. Rich Brauer, Mayor Tim Davlin, Teamsters Local 916, AFSCME Council 31 and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. 

A news conference to discuss this action was held on August 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the “Blue Room” of the State Capitol.
